born in san diego. raised on the beach. first visual memory is being out in the waves with my dad, him teaching me to surf.
haven't stopped that path since.
relocating to the pacific northwest to continue studies and university, i wound up graduating with a degree in oceanography.
began my career researching climate change and the links with el nino. realized that rather than be the scientist, why not make better tools for other scientists? began true software development, culminating with development of the Short-term Inundation Forecast for Tsunami's [SIFT] that aids U.S. tsunami warning centers in their prediction and forecasts of tsunamis.
and that brought me here. i've always had a deep interest in the web. from creating my first pages back in 1996 (and boy did they represent the horror of those early days!) to my present position where i am able to utilize my skills to help others create a better web presence.
